The course focuses on German-style initials, so-called laubwerk, and the production of colors from plant pigments. You will learn the principles for construction of initials typical for the 15th century coming from German regions. One day will be dedicated to the production of pigments from organic materials, which will be a follow-up to the course on mineral pigments.

You will take home own plant pigments (from Brazilian wood, buckthorn, elderberry etc.), your own initial designs, and instructions for their construction.

The course will be in Olomouc on Saturday, November 15, 10:00-17:00, and Sunday, November 16, 10:00-16:00. The course price includes materials for production of pigments and painting initials.

The participant will need a small camping cooker or hotplate, a pot (a smaller container for the stove), and a kitchen funnel.
