Learn 14th-century Gothic cursive through the example of an original charter from the city of Wisby. This online course is a transformed and expanded version of the live workshop taught at the Battle of Wisby 2025 event.

The course is divided into theoretical and practical parts:

  • Theoretical part: We will explore the history of the script and the reasons behind choosing the Wisby charter as our main reference.
  • Practical part: We will start from the very beginning—how to line your paper and practice basic pen strokes—and gradually move to more advanced techniques such as preparing parchment, cutting a quill, and creating your own version of the Wisby charter in your personal writing style.
